SEOUL, KOREA- AmorePacific saw its operating profit amount to 94.7 billion won (on a consolidated basis) for the second quarter of this year. This figure is down 3.8 percent from a year ago. Sales revenue, however, grew by 9.9 percent to 799 billion won.
Key factors behind the decline in operating profit include an increase in investment in Asian regions, excluding China, plus an increase in advertising spending resulting from the launching of new perfume brands in France.
Seahbe Steel also suffered a setback of 17.9 percent in operating profit to 51.2 billion won during the April-June period of this year. Its second-quarter sales stood at 549.7 billion won, down 10.5 percent from a year ago.
