This is 15.6 percent higher than the same period last year when 173 companies hired 18,974. But the average number of new hires by company was slightly lower at 105 than last year's 110.
By industry, 21 electric and electronic companies will add their payrolls by 7,701, followed by 18 machinery and steel companies (2,576), 19 automobile and transportation companies (2,414), 8 info-tech and telecom companies (1,600), and 20 food and beverage and food services (1,550).
Of the 373 companies that responded to the survey, 31.9 percent (119 companies) said they have no plan for new college graduate hires while the remaining 12.3 percent (46 companies) said they have not decided yet whether to hire new college graduates.
