Daum Map App was released in July 2010 and passed the 10-million level in cumulative downloads in August 2011. The cumulative downloads of Daum Map App continued to grow thereafter, rising to 20 million in December 2012 and 25 million in late August 2013.
Daum Map provides a variety of map services, including the 2D map that includes real-like topographical information using aerial photos, plus a variety of tools, Sky View that provides high-definition aerial photos for the entire part of the country, and Road View that provides a view of real streets using panoramic photos.
In addition, Daum released an Android version of Daum Map Widget in May 2013 that allows users to check bus and subway information on a real-time basis through mobile windows. The Daum Map Widget broke the 1-million level in downloads in just three months after launch.
