SEOUL, KOREA- Buzzvil is speeding up its forays into Japan’s smartphone screen lock market. The company announced that its lock-screen reward app “Honey Screen” attracted 400,000 subscribers in three months after launching into Japan’s mobile market.
Launched under the name of “Lockjoy” in Japan in June 2013, the app employs a thorough localization strategy with its service name and design being tailored to better meet the taste of Japanese users.

A Buzzvil official said, “Lockjoy is providing both Android and iOS services in Japan, solidifying its No. 1 position there.”

Buzzvil expects Lockjoy to grow at a faster pace in the future since it built up trust among local advertisers. The company recently succeeded in signing contracts with a group of famous brands, including BMW, Fuji TV, Yahoo! Japan, and 7-Eleven.
