SMEC to Show off 5 New Machine Tool Models in Germany's EMO

SEOUL, KOREA- SMEC Co., Korea's machine tool manufacturer, will take part in the EMO (Machine Tool World Exposition), the bi-annual European trade show for the metal-working industry, to be held for six days from the 16th at Germany's Hannover. The first time to set up booth in the EMO, the company will show off five different models including a hybrid lathe model "PL2500SY," compact-sized 6-inch lathe/mill combo "PL1600CM," and large-scale "PL45LM." It will also present a strategic model vertical machining center "LCV500."
 
SMEC president Won Jong-beom said, "As we saw the completion of the Juchon plant with twice bigger capacity, expanding markets in Europe and Russia has become more important for us than ever. The latest EMO will be the occasion for our company to step up our marketing efforts in these markets."
 
The EMO is one of the four largest machine tool industry expositions in Europe and occurs every odd-numbered year. This year the exhibition is expected to attract a total of 2,037 companies from 41 countries. As many as 46 Korean machine tool makers will join the event including Hyundai Wia.
