SEOUL, KOREA- Samsung Electronics will show off a curbed smartphone next month, surpassing the first stage of developing a flexible display smartphone. Flexible display is one of preconditions for development of wearable computing, which emerges as a next-generation growth engine for the world’s IT industry.Competition will heat up in the global smartphone market as Samsung Electronics, the No. 1 smartphone maker, speeds up the releasing of flexible display smartphones.
A Samsung official said, “We will release a smartphone which will employ a curved display for the first time in the world, within next month. It will be a first model that will open the era of flexible smartphone.”
However, it is not known yet if it will be another version of Galaxy Note 3 with a changed display or a totally new one. Samsung Electronics plans to unveil the detailed specs and the release date later.
