SEOUL, KOREA - SsangyongMotor announced on January 2 that it sold 145,649 units last year, including domestic sales of 63,970 units and overseas sales of 82,679 units (including CKD).
The company achieved record-high results last year since 2002 when it sold 160,481 units. Its domestic sales continued upward trends for four consecutive years.
Year on year, domestic sales grew by 34.1 percent and exports by 11.9 percent, with its overall sales rising by 20.7 percent. Ssangyong Motor achieved the highest domestic sales since 2005 (75,532 units), while exceeding the 80,000 level in exports, first in its history, thanks to increases in sales in major global markets, including Russia and China.
By car type the sales of the Korando family brand, including New Korando C, jumped by 23 percent year-on-year to 107,706 units, accounting for 73.9 percent in the company’s total sales.
