SEOUL, KOREA - JinAir passed the 10-million mark in the number of cumulative passengers .Jin Air held a ceremony on January 6 at the Incheon International Airport to celebrate its 10 millionth passenger.
The10-millionth passenger who used the LJ203 flight for the Incheon-Okinawa route,was given a gift of two international round-trip tickets plus a bouquet off lowers.
JinAir launched its first service on the route between Gimpo and Jeju with aB737-800 aircraft in July 2008. It took about 43 months for Jin Air to achieve the 5 million passenger mark and about 23 months to reach the 10-million milestone.
A JinAir official said, “In a situation where domestic low-cost carriers are about to pass the 10-percent market share in international routes, the 50-percent market share in domestic routes, and the 60-percent share in the route between Gimpo and Jeju, we could contribute to the growth of overall low-cost airline market by achieving the 10-million level.”
