SEOUL, KOREA - New-concept consumer electronics markets, including the areas of ultra HD TVs, wearable devices, and Bluetooth speakers, will enter the phase of full blossoming,according to a forecast by the Consumer Electronics Association.
The CEA predicted that the world's consumer electronics market will grow 2.4 percent this year to $208 billion.
As new trend-setters of the home electronics market, the CEA selected 3D printers,Bluetooth wireless speakers, healthcare devices, and UHD TVs. The new market is expected to grow 107 percent this year, reaching $6 billion.
Ina situation where traditional home electronics items are mired in a stagnant phase, the new home electronics items will likely to drive 65 percent of earnings in the home electronics market.
The CEA expected the sales of UHD TV display to pass the $1-billion mark this year,first in history, and the sales of OLED display to reach $836 million.
