Chevrolet Achieves Record-high Global Sales

SEOUL, KOREA - GM Korea announced on January 14 that Chevrolet, a popular brand of GM, was sold 4.98 million units throughout the world last year, the highest in its history.Last year's Chevrolet sales were about 4 percent or 30,000 units higher than the previous year's 4.95 million units.

In the U.S. market, it was sold 1.94 million units, marking a positive year-on-year growth of 5.2 percent. Chevrolet also enjoyed growth in sales in five major markets, including China (650,000), Brazil (640,000), Mexico (190,000), and Russia (170,000).

By car type, compact sedan Cruze was the best-selling model with its cumulative sales reaching 2.5 million units since it was released in 2008.
