SEOUL, KOREA - A mobile messenger Line has passed the 400-million level in the number of global subscribers, with the number of its Korean subscribers passing 10 million.

Korea’s No. 1 Internet portal Naver announced on April 2 that the number of Line subscribers passed the 400-million mark worldwide a day ago, in four months after it exceeded the 300-million level on November 25, 2013.

A Naver official said, “The number of Line subscribers has been growing 1.7 million a day on average, thanks to the increase in the number of subscribers in North America and Europe, in addition to Southeast Asia.”

The number of the countries where Line has more than 10 million subscribers also increased to ten. In addition to the existing countries, including Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Spain, and India, other countries like Korea, the United States, Mexico, and Malaysia joined the list.

Thanks to the increase in the number of subscribers, the number of messages, stickers, and phone calls exchanged daily through Line each passed the 10 billion, 1.8 billion, and 12 million cases.
