Hyundai Motor to Release New Genesis with Grandeur-level Engine in China

SEOUL, KOREA - Hyundai Motor plans to roll out New Genesis with a Grandeur-level engine in the Chinese market in June 2014. This reflects its intention to gain a larger share in the world’s largest automobile market by expanding the lineups of New Genesis which now focus on 3.3- and 3.8-liter models, toward 3.0 liters.

 

Hyundai Motor unveiled New Genesis 3.0 at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show held on April 20. This model, mounted with a 3.0 Ramda engine, is Hyundai Motor’s first-ever 3.0-liter Genesis. Hyundai Motor plans to start selling New Genesis 3.0 and 3.3 models in China from early June.

Since Genesis was released first in 2009, Hyundai Motor has produced it only with more than 3.3-liter engines. Hyundai Motor has sold 3.3 and 3.8-liter models in Korea and 3.8 and 5.0-liter models in North America and the Middle East.

Hyundai Motor also plans to make bigger forays into China’s SUV market. The Korean car maker displayed a small SUV ix25 concept car that is smaller than the existing Tucson model.
