BMW joined the 30,000 annual sales club last year, first among import car brands.Mercedes-Benz’s goal is to retake the No. 2 position from Volkswagen.Mercedes-Benz sold 24,780 units last year, falling behind Volkswagen’s 25,649 units.
According to the Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association, this year’s import car sales are expected to exceed 180,000 units. For the January-May period of this year, Germany’s four major auto brands—BMW, Benz, Volkswagen and Audi—each passed the 10,000 mark in sales.
BMW came on top with sales of 16,910 units, followed by Benz with 13,735 units, Volkswagen with 12,358 units, and Audi with 10,808 units.
