SEOUL, KOREA - KT announced on June 26 that it has developed and launched a commercial service of Uplink CoMP (Cooperative Multi-point) technology jointly with NSN and Ericsson. This technology contributes to greatly enhancing the LTE data uploading speed.

The use of data transmission through LTE is growing at a rapid pace with consumers increasingly demanding for a higher data uploading speed.

To cope with this trend, KT joined hands with the world’s leading telecommunications equipment makers NSN and Ericsson to develop the Uplink CoMP technology that contributes to enhancing the data upload transmission speed, thereby enabling consumers to enjoy faster and more stable LTE services.

Uplink CoMP is a technology that improves the data transmission speed by reducing interference among base stations and allowing them to cooperate to provide an optimized electromagnetic wave environment.

Since January 2014, KT has engaged in technological cooperation with NSN and Ericsson with respect to the development of the Uplink CoMP technology.
