SEOUL, KOREA - European import car brands are slashing their car prices thanks to the application of the fourth Korea-EU FTA.Mercedes-Benz Korea announced on July 1 that it will reduce its car prices by up to 2.3 million won.
This price cut will encompass all types of C Class and E Class models. Non-tariff is already reflected on the prices of S 350 Blue Tec 4 Matic and S 600 Long, which were released in June, among S Class lineups.
Other European automobile brands such as Audi and Volkswagen are also ready to cut their car prices.
Prior to this, BMW Korea had applied the reduced prices starting from the vehicles that were released last month.
Hanbul Motors also applied the new reduced tariffs earlier starting from June 9, slashing the price of the Citroen hatchback DS3 model by 1 million won.
As the 4th Korea-EU FTA took effect on July 1, the tariff on European vehicles with an engine displacement of more than 1.5 liters is removed, while those with an engine displacement of less than 1.5 liters is reduced from 4.0 percent to 2.6 percent.
