
SEOUL, KOREA - Samsung Electronics has spent 21.4 trillion won as personnel expenses last year, with the amount of taxes it spent last year estimated at about 9.0 trillion won.The company released its 2014 sustainability report through its website on June 30.
This report said that the company posted sales of 228 trillion won and operating profit of 36.8 trillion won last year, and spent 9.0 trillion won as taxes worldwide.
Of the total, the amount of taxes it paid in Korea stood at 4.81 trillion won, which accounted for about 11 percent in the nation’s total corporate taxes of 46.0 trillion won.
On a global basis, the sum of the money Samsung Electronics paid last year to interested parties, including subcontractors, shareholders, governments, and regional communities, totaled 214.8 trillion won, up 15 percent from 187.2 trillion won a year ago.
