Hyundai Sonata Grabs the Highest Grade in U.S. Collision Test

SEOUL, KOREA - Hyundai Motor’s LF Sonata received the highest grade “Top Safety Pick Plus” in the collision test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety of the United States.

According to Hyundai Motor on July 18, LF Sonata achieved the “excellent” grade in all of the four categories, including front collision test, side collision test, roof strength and headrest, and seat safety test.

Even in the small overlap test, LF Sonata achieved the “good” grade. In the collision evasion equipment evaluation, LF Sonata won the “basic” grade.

A Hyundai Motor official said, “With these test results, we expect our sales of new Sonata for which we began official sales in the U.S. from June to accelerate further there.”

In the meantime, the New Genesis also acquired the highest grade in every category in the collision test conducted by the same organization in May.
