SEOUL, KOREA - Joymax, a Korean massively multiplayer online game developer and publisher, announced on May 14 that it achieved record-high sales in the first quarter of this year. On the basis of K-IFRS consolidated financial statements, Joymax posted sales of 12.9 billion won, an operating profit of 4.5 billion won and a net profit of 3.1 billion won for the first quarter of this year.

Year-on-year, sales grew by 87 percent, while operating profits and net profits by 374 percent and 89 percent, respectively. The company achieved a remarkable growth thanks to its aggressive mobile game marketing. Wind Runner, released on January 29, has already gained a legendary popularity in the Korean mobile game market, leading the growth in Joymax sales.

Every Town also enjoyed a huge popularity, clearing the way for the company to develop mobile games into its new growth engine.

Wind Runner ranked No. 2 in sales terms in Google Play in April, with its overseas popularity rising at a rapid pace. Joymax's another growth engine "online game" is also adding more fuel to the growth in sales. Joymax launched an open service for its online game Lost Saga in North America. The same title is also set to be launched in China, raising expectations that Joymax's online game sales will continue to grow.
