SEOUL, KOREA - Jin Air, a low-cost carrier run by Korean Air, announced on May 14 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Hodo Nakamura, the governor of Nagasaki Prefecture, to open scheduled flights between Incheon and the city of Nagasaki.
The ceremony to celebrate the exchange of MOU documents was held in response to Jin Air's previous announcement that it would introduce regular flights to Nagasaki in early April. The ceremony was attended by many regional dignitaries, including the prefecture's governor and the Nagasaki city mayor.
Ma Won, president of Jin Air, said, "With regular flights to Nagasaki, Jin Air will strive to serve as a diplomatic intermediary that introduces Nagasaki region's tourist attractions and traditional foods to Korea.
Under the goal of making regular flights three times a week from July, Jin Air is driving forward with plans to acquire approval from the governments of the two countries with respect to the opening of the Incheon-Nagasaki regular route.
