SEOUL, KOREA - Jeju Air, the largest low-cost carrier in Korea, plans to increase the service frequency of its domestic flights, effective from March 30. The airline announced on March 5 that it will increase the frequency of its flights between Gimpo and Jeju from 98 to 112 times per week on a round-trip basis.

The low-cost airliner also plans to increase its round-trip service frequency from 49 to 56 per week on the Busan-Jeju route. It will also launch a new service between Daegu and Jeju, offering two round-trip services a day, from July 3.

This move is part of Jeju Air’s effort to boost its domestic market share up to 20 percent from the current 17.7 percent. This market share is based on the services offered to/from Jeju Island.

In addition to the expansion of its domestic flights, Jeju Air also moves to increase its services to Hong Kong and Qingdao from Incheon. Jeju Air will increase its Incheon-Hong Kong service frequency up to 12 times per week from the current 7 within the first half of this year, and its Incheon-Qingdao service frequency up to 11 from the current 7 from the summer season.
