SEOUL, KOREA – STI said Thursday it has struck a deal to supply USD 130 million worth of CDSs (Chemical Delivery System) to Chinese display maker BOE.
The CDSs will be installed in the 8th generation (2200×2500㎜) B5 line located in Hefei, China. CDS is a device that supplies high-purity chemicals in accordance with the fab’s needs. STI, the first Korean company to develop CDSs, is known to make up 50% of the domestic market.
Jung-young Kim, CEO of STI said, “The latest contract is our first export deal in 2013. Since domestic companies and China’s display industry are aggressively making huge investments, we believe that our wining of this contract will help diversify our sources of sales in and outside Korea.”

에스티아이, BOE에 1300만 달러 규모 CDS 장비 공급
에스티아이(대표 서인수〃김정영)는 중국 디스플레이업체인 BOE에 1300만달러(약 147억원) 규모의 화학약품공급장비(CDS)를 공급한다고 11일 밝혔다.
이 장비는 중국 허페이(合肥)에 위치한 8세대(2200×2500㎜) B5라인에 설치된다. CDS는 다양한 고순도 화학약품을 팹 사용 조건에 맞게 공급하는 장치를 말한다. 에스티아이는 국내 처음 CDS를 개발해 현재 국내 시장의 50%를 점유하고 있는 것으로 파악했다.
김정영 대표는 “올해 수출의 첫 포문을 중국 최대 LCD제조사 공급으로 열었다”며 “국내 기업은 물론 중국 디스플레이 업계들도 공격적인 대규모 투자를 진행하는 만큼 이번 수주를 시작으로 국내〃외에서 매출을 다각화할 수 있을 것”이라고 말했다.
